MODEL ANALYSIS OF CANTILEVER BEAM

Modal analysis is carried out to study the natural frequency cantilever beam with and without NiTinol wire at austenite and martensite. In Ansys Solid185 elements is used for cantilever beam and Beam 4 element is used for NiTinol wire. Cantilever beam is discretized to 3155 elements with 1226 nodes. Frequency and mode shape are given below, from the analysis it is found that the natural frequency of cantilever beam is 1.0064 at first mode.

MODEL ANALYSIS OF CANTILEVER BEAM WITH NiTinol WIRE

0.5mm diameter NiTinol wire is fixed at free end of cantilever beam to arrest the vibration to some extent and change in natural frequency of system is analyzed
